He got involved in a hellish attack where the members of the Balbi clan were being overwhelmed; his intervention helped defeat the dark figure before it ended the life of the last remover. From that moment on, Cabiria Balbi accepted him into her clan on the condition that he would train her warriors. Ariel never speaks of his past in Tokyo; no one knows the reasons that led him to flee the country, nor is there any information about his Sire or whether he had a clan.
